Boys and Girls Clubs of Delaware header


PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Pegasus ArtWorks is a three-year four site pilot program providing ongoing professional arts instruction for Boys and Girls club members. The program enhances the creative, personal, academic, and vocational development of at-risk youth so that they will become responsible, contributing members of their community. By providing positive, alternative, afterschool arts activities for youth ages 12-15.

PROJECT OUTCOMES:

Participation resulted in an increased awareness, understanding and appreciation of the arts as an effective resource for youth development. Students also experienced improved behavior, academic performance, self-esteem, and communication. The program has now fully integrated arts programming and strategies into ongoing club operation, thus increasing the number of arts programs in Boys and Girls Clubs of Delaware sites.
