PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The Nebraska Theatre Caravan of the Arts Academy developed workshops for low- income children in dance, acting, music, and the visual arts. The goal was to provide an introduction to art appreciation and the techniques, materials, and creative processes of the visual artist. The workshops were open to all interested youth, with the unit directors specifically speaking with members who might have shown interest in the past and would benefit from the workshops.

PROJECT OUTCOMES:

During and after the project period, there was a strong involvement and interest of the teen members and staff. The clubs were able to build collaborations throughout the arts community by working with a variety of artists contracted through the Nebraska Theatre Caravan.
